Staff and residents at a Barley residential and dementia care home have marked the first anniversary of their new 24-bed wing with a coffee and cake morning.
A cake was baked especially for the occasion, which was attended by relatives, residents and staff. The cake was cut by proprietor Thomas Kelly, and one of the wing’s first residents, Ruby Newsom.
The team have also introducted Magic Mornings on the third Wednesday of each month at 11am, where dementia sufferers, carers and friends can take part in the sessions which include use of the state-of-the-art Magic Table, which projects simple light-animated games onto a surface. It is also an opportunity to have a coffee and chat with other people.
