A man who died in a collision on the A505 near Thriplow on Friday has been named by police

Michael Stiff was driving a white Audi A1 on the A505 when it collided with a white Vauxhall Insignia at about 12.40pm.

The 70-year-old, from Horringer near Bury St Edmunds, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Vauxhall suffered serious injuries and was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge.

The road was closed in both directions between the M11 and the A10 roundabout for several hours while an investigation took place. Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to call the Beds, Cambs and Herts Road Policing Unit on 101.
