A man has been taken to hospital and is now in a critical condition after a crash on the A505 between Melbourn and Royston.

A man is in a critical condition in hospital after a crash on the A505 between Melbourn and Royston yesterday, police have now confirmed.

The incident, which happened at about 8.50am, involved a Mini and a Volkswagen van.

A police spokesman said: “A man from the Mini was seriously injured and remains in a critical condition in hospital.

“No one else was seriously injured.”

Police closed the stretch of the A505 from the A10 roundabout to the junction for the M11 at Duxford while the road was cleared, and it was reopened by 2.30pm.
