A 46-YEAR-old man pleaded not guilty to murder when he appeared at St Albans Crown Court on Monday. Graham Willis denied killing Darren Knight in Jepps Lane, Royston, on October 9 last year. Willis, from Little Hardings, Welwyn Garden City, was arrested two days later in Thetford, Norfolk. A post-mortem examination revealed that Mr Knight, from Reading, died from a brain injury. Mr Justice Beatson adjourned the hearing for two weeks, and remanded Willis in custody. The judge said a date for a trial had been arranged for July 10, but he said attempts would be made to find an earlier date.
