A man and a woman escaped without injury after the vehicle they were travelling in crashed into a tree off the A1198 between Royston and Bassingbourn-cum-Kneesworth at the weekend.

The vehicle hit a tree near Highfield Farm in Old North Road on Friday afternoon at about 4.45pm.

The ambulance service sent two rapid response vehicles and an ambulance to attend the incident.

The man and woman were both checked over at the scene and needed no further care, an ambulance spokesman confirmed today.
