A LIBRARIAN is saying goodbye next week after more than 20 years working at Royston Library.

Maureen Mitchell, who turned 65 on Monday, retires from her role as library manager at the end of the month.

A spokesman for Royston Library said: "Those that have worked with Maureen will know how dedicated she has been to the library. She has been an excellent manager who has done a lot for the library and will be missed."

Recently the library has won recognition for its excellent customer service, picking up prizes at the last two Royston Business Awards. The spokesman added that this is testament to Maureen's hard work.

She said: "Maureen's work colleagues, and the members of the library, would like to wish her a happy retirement, now she will be able to read even more books!

"The library won't be the same without her.
