A505 gridlocked after motorway closed
A FIRE caused by a model plane crashing caused long delays on the A505 yesterday.
The plane, which was part of a Large Flying Model Association show at the Imperial War Museum, Duxford, crashed into a field and started a fire.
As a result, the M11 was closed between Duxford and A11 junction, and this caused tailbacks on the A505, with traffic queuing back to the junction with the A10 at Royston.
The motorway re-opened at about 5pm/
