Craig McMurrough from Royston is going the 26.2-mile distance in memory of his sister who died of cancer in June 2016.

The 47-year-old said: “I’m all set for the London Marathon on Sunday. I collected donations in Royston’s Tesco Extra last Sunday and had great support from people – including EastEnders legend Gillian Taylforth.

“I’m running two marathons this year – London and Berlin – the Yorkshire Half Marathon and the Great North Run. In July I’m climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, and in September I’m completing my first parachute jump all for Ovacome and Breast Cancer Now in memory of my sister Cheryl Earnshaw who died of ovarian cancer aged just 43.

“I want to say a big thank you to the to the people of Royston for helping me to fundraise for these important causes.”
