A new lollipop lady has finally been found for a busy village street.
As reported in The Crow, Melbourn has been without a lollipop lady at the junction of the High Street and the Moor for several months, leading to fears the crossing patrol would be lost for good.
But Melbourn county councillor Susan van de Ven told The Crow: “After much work to safeguard the role, and then to improve the fairness of the recruitment process, a new School Crossing Patrol Officer for Melbourn has been appointed and started work on Monday.”
