It looked like Christmas had come early at Melbourn Village College with 20 wrapped presents ready to be opened.
The gifts were for those in need thanks to the school’s response to Link to Hope Shoebox Appeal, which they are proud to support each year.
The 20 boxes filled with essential items and treats – including things like hats, scarves, gloves, sewing kits, candles and toiletries as well as sweets, chocolate and toys – soon will be winging their way with the other 330 boxes collected from different organisations in the area by the Orwell Group Benefice vicar, Rev Felicity Couch, to deserving families and the elderly in the Eastern European countries of Romania, Bulgaria, Moldova and Ukraine.
