THE LIGHTS of Love ceremony is just over a month away, and organisers at Isabel Hospice are asking people to make donations in memory of their lost loved ones.

The annual ceremony takes place on December 7 at Buntingford Manor House.

Those who make donations will be able to place lights on the Christmas tree to represent the people they have lost.

They will also be given star tree decorations to commemorate the occasion.

Pam Shepherd, Lights of Love organiser, said: "I recently spoke to a Buntingford lady who donates to the Lights of Love ceremony in memory of her partner of 20 years, and both her mother and father.

"Although we didn't look after her family members directly, she likes to donate to Isabel Hospice because it is such a local charity, directly benefiting local people.

"She said she gains great comfort from walking past the lit tree at the Manor House and thinking of her loved ones."

Carols will be sung at the ceremony, with the singing led by St Mary of Aspenden Choir.

North Herts MP Oliver Heald will be in attendance and giving a reading, while Mayor of Buntingford, Cllr John Noades, will switch on the lights.
