A life-saving defibrillator has been fitted at a town hall thanks to Royston’s fire fighters.
The town’s fire Station has recently had their defibrillation equipment updated which has meant that they now have a unit surplus to requirement, and it has been donated to Royston Town Council.
Crew Commander Ray Constant explained: “The defibrillator was originally funded for the station by councillors in the town. It has now been decided to return this important equipment and locate it centrally at the town hall. Here, facilities are regularly used by members of the public both during the day and at night.”
A crew from the station gave staff members at the town hall training with the equipment last week, and the defibrillator is now available to use if required.
