Libyan men who trained at Bassingbourn Barracks in court accused of raping a man in Cambridge

Two Libyan men who trained at Bassingbourn Barracks have appeared in court today accused of raping a man.
Moktar Ali Saad Mahmoud, 33, and Ibrahim Abogutila, 22, who were both based at the Old North Road barracks, appeared at Cambridge Crown Court for a preliminary hearing.
They are charged with the rape of a man in the Christ’s Pieces area of Cambridge on Sunday, October 26.
The two men have both been remanded in custody and are due to return to court to enter a plea on January 23.
Last week around 300 Libyan troops were sent home from Bassingbourn Barracks due to disciplinary failures.
