After the success of a recent trial a Bookstart Book Crawl is to be launched across Herts.

The scheme is aimed at encouraging parents to enrol babies and pre-school children at local libraries and next month will include Storytime sessions at Royston and Buntingford library.

County councillor Keith Emsall, executive member for community safety and culture, said: "Libraries have an abundance of board and picture books and I hope parents will take their children to join in the scheme."

He said he hoped the scheme will help children to develop "a lifelong love of books".

The session at Royston library will be taking place on Friday, October 6 and at Buntingford library on Thursday October 12.
