Garden House Hospice Care has raised £4,000 for its children’s bereavement service, and an additional £4,000 for its music therapy service from Tesco’s Bags of Help grant scheme.
The campaign at Royston’s Tesco Extra and Tesco Express stores awarded the hospice’s music therapy service with the top amount of £4,000 by customer votes, while the Baldock, Letchworth and Stotfold branches awarded the children’s bereavement service it’s full amount.
Lisa Seccombe, director of fundraising at the hospice, said: “This money means that we can continue to offer these valuable sessions to the patients, carers, volunteers and friends of the hospice. Some of the money will go towards books and resources for supporting bereaved children and young people.”
Bags of Help is run in partnership with environmental charity Groundwork, and sees grants raised from the sale of carrier bags awarded to thousands of local community projects every year.
