Progress towards opening Royston’s first foodbank has been aided by the donation of a computer.
Stevenage firm Bluebird Care has donated the laptop for volunteers to use at the food bank’s story warehouse, which will be located at Homestore in South Close.
The foodbank, which will be open to people in Royston and the surrounding villages, will be officially opened on Saturday, March 29, by Royston’s mayor, Cllr Bob Smith.
Organisers have also been boosted by a grant from Royston’s County Councillor, Fiona Hill. She has contributed £250 to the project via her locality budget.
