PROPOSALS for a Pubwatch scheme in Buntingford have had a positive response from landlords.
Herts police are hoping that the setting up of the scheme will help towards reducing alcohol-related crime and anti-social behaviour.
Letters were sent out to 15 publicans in Buntingford and eight have said they would support the scheme.
Insp Andy Piper, of the area neighbourhood policing team, said: "Pubwatch is an initiative which is used across the county and allows us to work together with publicans and authorities to enable us to reduce alcohol- related disorder.
The initiative would involve pubs in the town sharing details about troublemakers through radio contact and a closed-circuit television network.
Police are now planning to set up a meeting with landlords to discuss the viability of the scheme.
