A Kneesworth drink-driver has been disaqualified from driving after being caught while being more than double the blood alcohol limit.

Bogdan Precupanu, of Old North Road, had 74 microgrammes of alcohol in 100ml of breath while at the wheel of a Mercedes Sprinter van in Waltham Cross on March 8. The limit is 35.

The 34-year-old pleaded guilty to drink driving when he appeared before Stevenage magistrates last week.

He was disqualified from driving for 44 months, fined £184, must pay £85 costs and a surcharge of £30.
