GET ready for a night of memorable songs as Kinks front man Ray Davies comes to Cambridge Corn Exchange.
Davies, widely regarded as having written some of the best British rock and pop songs of the 1960s, is one of the most successful and influential songwriters of his generation.
The Kinks' string of hits started with You Really Got Me, and included Tired of Waiting, Dedicated Follower Of Fashion, Sunny Afternoon, and Waterloo Sunset.
As the writing and performing skills of Davies, his brother Dave, and the rest of the band developed, ambitious album projects followed, including The Kinks Are The Village Green Preservation Society, Arthur, and Muswell Hillbillies.
Davies has since developed a solo act, sometimes with other musicians, and has released an album, The Kinks Choral Collection, with the Crouch End Festival Chorus, which includes many of The Kinks' most popular songs, given a new treatment.
His appearance at the Corn Exchange, on May 13, is with a full band and no choir.
