A LONG term resident of a Royston care home celebrated her 100th birthday on Saturday.
Kathleen Willis marked her big day with a party at Richard Cox House, in Dog Kennel Lane, Royston, where she has lived since 2005. Friends and family gathered to see her open a telegram from the Queen.
Born in Colchester, Mrs Willis moved to Letchworth GC, where she lived with her husband Charles and two daughters. She was an active member of the Letchworth Townswomen’s Guild.
Asked about the secret of a long and happy life, she said: “A happy disposition and a glass of sherry.”
