New members needed for community project

A COMMUNITY karate club faces the threat of closure unless it can attract new members.

The Kaizen Karate and Self Defence School, which meets at Arrington village hall every Tuesday evening, needs to attract new blood.

Instructor Howard Cane, who runs the classes, said: “We are desperate to attract new members to our very friendly and supportive group.

“As a local community activity profit is definitely not the driving force, I do not take any money myself.

“And having established the club I would like to offer a place to go once a week where residents can keep themselves fit, gain confidence, learn to defend themselves, and understand how not to be a ‘victim’.”

Anyone aged 16-65 is welcome to get involved, regardless of past experience. For details call Mr Cane on 07939 951833.
