Eager gymnasts jumped at the chance to take part in a late challenge to help top up the total for this year’s Children in Need appeal.
Royston Leisure Centre‘s gymnasts, taught by senior coaches Glen Stanway and Alison Seeman, took part in the Jump for Pudsey challenge, clocking up more than 10,000 jumps to raise money for the cause which supports disadvantaged children and young people.
“It was fantastic to see all the children making such a big effort to do as many jumps as they could for such a worthy cause,” said Alison.
The individual tasks included how many forwards skips can be done in 30 seconds, or how many jumps over a platform or jumping while throw-ing a catching a ball can be done in 30 seconds.
“We managed to raise a fantastic total of £535 with a grand total of 10,300 jumps,” Alison added. “Well done Royston Gymnastics!”
At the centre, they currently teach about 100 children over three sessions on Wednesday afternoons. For more information on the centre go to www.sll.co.uk/royston.
