AN exhibition by two artists of contrasing styles has opened at the Royston & District Museum.

The works of Rachel Haynes and Mary James compliment each other, but show , too, their own approach to the work.

Rachel has recently returned to working on portraiture - and actually did a session of portrait drawings at the museum on Saturday morning.

Although her work in the past has covered a wide range, she said that she has returned to her "great love of portraiture".

Rachel, who lives in Bassingbourn, is a member of the Cambridge Drawing Society.

Mary's work shows her fascination for people.

She, too, is a member of the Cambridge Drawing Society has has lived in Royston for almost 30 years.

Both artists recently had an exhibition at the Curwen Gallery in Royston and at the Hills Road Professional Artists exhibition in Cambridge.

The exhibition will run at the museum until Sunday, September 28.
