This summer’s Make Lunch holiday club has been another success, thanks to the hard work of volunteers and donations from the community.
The scheme provides a meal and games for children from low-income families, and organiser Cate Hall was pleased to receive support from the community, including Johnson Matthey.
Over the six weeks, JM volunteers have attended every Monday and Thursday, along with the regular Make Lunch volunteers.
And this year, the firm has teamed up with the Community Union, the officially recognised union on site. Union chairman Chris Rice was delighted to contribute £250 from the union’s Benevolent Fund towards the project.
Johnson Matthey also made a further donation bringing the total to £1,000.
Cate said: “Make Lunch is run entirely through donations and the support of volunteers so we are very grateful for the funding and support from Johnson Matthey this year.”
