THE fifth anniversary of the al-Qaeda-led attacks on the Twin Towers in new York - marking an event that undoubtedly changed the world for ever.

I remember when the news broke - it was a defining moment for the entire world.

Disbelief swept across the globe.

How could anyone be so cruel, go to such great lengths and target so many innocent people?

It feels me with anger and makes me even more determined to not let it affect the way I go about my everyday life.

Even though at the time I was reluctant to fly or use the London Underground, I believe that if we let the terroists make us feel vulnerable then we've only let them win.

Why let them make us feel like prisoners in our own country?

They have NO right.

We need to fight for all those who perished and go about our everyday lives like we would have done before 9/11.

Lets just hope that our troops come back from trouble spots around the world sooner rather than later, to bring the war on terror to an end.

TO my disbelief Arsenal defender Ashley Cole turned down a £55,000 weekly pay cheque this week because it was £5,000 less than what he had anticipated.

He doesn't need the money for goodness sake and even said the difference was a pittance.

So why make such a fuss?!

I would like to see him live on an average wage as opposed to splashing out on designer suits and flashy sportscars on a whim.

The five-year contract he was offered by Arsenal, worth £15.6 MILLION, could have bought...

# 60,000 cows for a dairy farmer in Malawi

# 1 million water pipes to bring clean, safe water to disadvantaged people

# Food to feed 2million children in Malawi

# 4.5million text books for school children in Zambia
