ROYALTIES from the sales of the book Jack's War will be given to the Royston and District Museum.

Members of Royston Town Council's finance committee decided on Monday to allow the museum to retain all the proceeds from the sales.

The book is based on the diary of the late Jack Halstead, who spent most of the last two years of the First World War on the Western Front.

The museum will receive a percentage of the royalties which will be used for the enhancement of the collection, conservation work and exhibitions.

Royalties will not be used for the day-to-day running of the museum.
