STUDENTS in Buntingford will be serving the community from September as part of a new initiative.
Sixth Form pupils at Freman College will be taking part in a community service commitment initiative which will see them donating their time to help with a range of projects.
They will spend an hour-a-week either helping people in the community with shopping or gardening, assisting with school productions, sports competitions and environmental projects or helping pupils at other schools in the area.
Head teacher Helen Loughran said: "It has been part of the college for a long time, but we want to put it on a more formal footing to give students the recognition they deserve.
