EDWINSTREE School in Buntingford staged a version of Joseph And His Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat - after receiving a £1,000 community grant for lighting and sound equipment. Sainsburys store in Stevenage raised the money using a new scheme that encourages customers to recycle plastic shopping bags. Store manager Dave Warlow said: "Helping children to grow and achieve their full potential is a terrific investment for their future." Assistant head teacher Jane Baker said: "The equipment enabled us to put on a superb performance, and this was something we had wanted to replace for some time." The donation was one of the first to be made as part of Sainsbury's community grant scheme, funded from the profits on sales for Bags for Life, which cost 10 pence each. Mr Warlow added: "Sainsburys is building on its existing support of recycling and community projects by linking our Bags for Life and the funding of local projects.
