It’s hard enough to run a marathon, but Craig McMurrough has decided to make it even tougher – by tackling the 26-mile test dressed as a giant training shoe.
Craig, 44, of Redwing Rise, will be running the London Marathon as his alter ego Shoe Barker in aid of Cancer Research UK in memory of his aunt.
Craig, who works in change management, is no stranger to the shoe outfit, having already completed the Great North Run and the Great South Run in the costume.
He said: “Pounding the pavements as Shoe Barker has definitely been challenging at times, but it’s so motivating to know that the money I raise is going to help.”
