AN inquest has been opened and adjourned into the death of a woman involved in a road accident.

The 25-year-old woman died after a collision with a motor-cycle in Royston on Tuesday last week.

Kelly Reeman, of Kneesworth Street, Royston, had been in a critical condition in Lister Hospital, after sustaining severe head injuries in the collision in York Way.

She died on Thursday morning.

Kelly worked in the call centre at the luxury chocolate company Hotel Chocolat in Royston.

Floral tributes, together with a US flag, were placed at the scene of the accident, near the junction of York Way and Old North Road.

Police were called to the incident at 5.10pm on Tuesday.

It is believed that the motorcycle, being ridden by a 19-year-old man, was travelling along York Way past a row of parked cars.

The collision is believed to have happened as the woman stepped out into the road.

The rider was also taken to hospital, but was released the same day after suffering back injuries.

Police closed the road for four hours while investigations into the cause of the accident took place.
