Inquest begins for man killed filming for Channel 4’s Time Team

THE inquest into the death of a man from Heydon, who was killed while taking part in a medieval jousting re-enactment for the Channel 4 programme Time Team, is currently taking place.

THE inquest into the death of a man from Heydon, who was killed while taking part in a medieval jousting re-enactment for the Channel 4 programme Time Team, is currently taking place.

Paul Allen died when an opponent's lance struck him in the eye, during filming at Rockingham Castle, Corby, Northamptonshire, in September 2007.

Mr Allen, who was 54 and lived on Chishill Road in Heydon, was a member of several re-enactment groups and died at Coventry University Hospital after undergoing an emergency operation.

The inquest, which is taking place in Kettering, is expected to last several days.
