THE LATEST exhibition at Curwens Gallery reunites two artists for the first time since university.

Elizabeth Beardwell and Rachel Haynes are exhibiting their work at Curwens Solicitors, in High Street, Royston.

They both studied art at the Cambridge School of Art and Design, based at Anglia Ruskin University.

Mrs Haynes said: "We enjoyed working together on our final degree show, but we haven't exhibited with each other since, so it's a bit like artists reunited here!"

It was during her studies that Mrs Beardwell developed a special interest in print making.

And after visits to various places, including Royston Cave, she has produced a set of toned animal prints.

A versatile artist, Mrs Haynes is known for her skilled animal portraiture.

She continues to study new techniques, including sculpture, and tries to work with a range of media.

A recent trip to her native New Zealand provided the inspiration for her latest collection of vibrant pastel landscapes and detailed studies of Maori bone carving designs.

Mrs Beardwell regularly exhibits with the Hertford Art Society.

She has other examples of her work on show at her home, at Green Drift, Royston, this weekend, as part of Hertfordshire Open Studios.

Mrs Haynes, a member of Royston Art Society, will also be displaying her work at the forthcoming Royston Festival.

The exhibition at Curwens runs until the end of October.
