Young punters from a popular Royston youth group were treated to a special winter day out courtesy of North Herts District Council.
Members of the Burns Road Hangout were taken to the North Pole ice skating rink at Winter Wonderland at Parker’s Piece in Cambridge, followed by dinner at a local pizza restaurant just before Christmas.
The grant from the North Herts Community Safety Partnership’s Joint Action Group helped to subsidise the cost of the trip which was also the final part of a series of three activities organised for the youngsters in 2015 by the district council’s Active Communities Team.
Councillor Tony Hunter, responsible for community engagement, said: “The club gives young people who live in the Burns Road area fantastic opportunities to try out new things all year round.”
