FIRE CREWS were called to tackle a house fire in Bassingbourn yesterday (Sunday).

Three crews, two from Royston and one from Gamlingay, were called to the scene at Willmott Road, Bassingbourn, at 12.40pm.

They found the fire well alight on the first floor of the terraced house. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus, and using a hose reel and a jet, brought the blaze under control. It was extinguished by 2.40pm.

No one was injured in the blaze, the cause of which was accidental.
