Almost £1,000 has been raised by a Steeple Morden dance academy at their annual fundraising presentation in Royston.

Almost £1,000 has been raised by a Steeple Morden dance academy at their annual fundraising presentation in Royston.

The event by Hot Steps Dance Academy saw achievement shields presented to pupils from across the school, who have excelled over the past year.

Rosina Summers, aged 12, from Whaddon won the Disco Freestyle shield. Other winners were Maddie Holt, six, seven-year old Gracie Fitzgibbon, Tom Wilson 10, Ellie Bray, aged 14, and Lauren Cullum, who is 11.

The event raised a total of £950 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Teacher and group founder Harriet Walmesley said: “We would like to thank Royston Leisure Centre and all of our parents and pupils at the school for their support with this event.”

Hot Steps Dance Academy holds dance classes at Steeple Morden Village Hall on Monday and Thursday afternoons.
