PLANS for a housing estate access road are set to be revised, but councillors fear developers will only make minor changes.

Members of Royston Town Council’s planning committee met with Fairview Homes and North Herts District Council planning officers earlier this month to discuss the planned development of 160 new homes in north Royston.

The planning committee opposed the scheme because it was worried about plans for an access road which would join the new homes to the roundabout at the junction of the A505 and Old North Road.

Cllr John Davison, who was present at the meeting, said: “We went through our concerns in some detail, and the developers said they would go away and consider some changes. I look forward to seeing these changes.

“The planning officers will give us the revised application as soon as they receive it.”

But Cllr Bob Smith said: “It does seem that they are looking at minor changes. My initial feeling is that they are not taking due recognition of our concerns as a town council.”
