The history of a quarry is being explored in a new DVD launched this week.

John Drayton, who has worked at Barrington Cement Works for 44 years, has put together the DVD – A walk back through time at Barrington Cement Works – about the site.

Mr Drayton, who was awarded an MBE in 2008 for his services to the industry, said: “It’s a look back at how the works developed and changed. We’ve got a lot of archive footage and it brought back a lot of memories.”

The cement works is owned by Cemex, which mothballed the site in 2008. Last year, plans were announced for housing on the land. The DVD is on sale from the offices at the cement works at £9.99, with proceeds to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
