Plans for a 45-hectare solar farm have been approved.
The farm will be built by developers EW Pepper at Bury Lane farm, which is off the A10 between Royston and Melbourn.
There had been some local opposition to the plan, with residents worried about the visual impact and affect on the nearby wildlife.
However, at a meeting last week, South Cambridgeshire District Council’s planning committee gave the scheme the go-ahead.
Meldreth Parish Council opposed the solar farm, but nearby Melbourn Parish Council had given their blessing to the scheme.
