HERITAGE awards from South Cambridgeshire District Council have been presented to three schemes in the area.

The winner for a large scale scheme went to Malton Farm at Orwell and the local initiative award went to Milestones at Ermine Way in Arrington.

The village lock-up at Litlington was commended in the local initiative award section.

Cllr Jane Healey, portfolio holder for conservation on the district council, said: "The built heritage awards not only celebrate best practice in building conservation, they demonstrate the importance of retaining the district's historic environment as a key local asset.

"Significant housing development may be on its way, but it is our cultural heritage which helps define south Cambridgeshire's character and contributes to making the district an attractive place to live and work.
