MP Oliver Heald is urging the British High Commissioner in Jamaica to act quickly on a visa application.

He wants to see the application procedure speeded up so that Mark Goddard and his wife, Stephanie, can be reunited.

Mr Goddard, who has been staying with his mother at Leete Place, Royston, while his wife remains in Jamaica has been fighting red tape for his wife to have a visa re-newed.

Royston's MP Mr Heald told The Crow this week: "It does seem ridiculous that it has taken so long since the marriage to arrange for Stephanie to come here."

Meanwhile, Mr Goddard has appeared on Anglia Television, explaining the case.

He told The Crow in an exclusive interview last week that the couple would have to wait until November until they were given a date for an appeal hearing.
