MORE than £8,000 was raised at a charity ball in Barrington.

The third annual ball held in the village took place at Barrington Hall and was in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust.

Philippa Priddle, the organising committee chairman, said: “Despite the tough economic situation, the amount raised exceeded all expectations. Back in February when we advertised, tickets were sold out within an hour.”
