PUPILS at Greneway School in Royston learned the hard facts about drugs during an awareness day on Thursday. During the Drugs Education Day, visitors included Pc Colin Mingay, Pc Jeff Mason and Quit, an anti-smoking organisation. Pupils were also shown the medical side of drugs and the effects they have on the body. Citizenship co-ordinator Allan Gee said: "We all hope that none of our pupils become the victims of drug misuse, and aim to do all that we can to educate them as fully as possible to the destructive effects of drug taking as well as the positive benefits of medicines. "The activities aim to develop pupils' strategies for dealing with pressure from friends and the necessary information to help them to make informed decisions.
