MERIDIAN School's latest production features some seriously scary shrubbery.

The performing arts department at the school, in Garden Walk, Royston, has spent the last few weeks busily rehearsing their new show, Little Shop of Horrors.

The story develops in a small downtown florist shop where an alien appears in the form of a blood thirsty plant.

A spokesman for the school said: "The students have brought a variety of characters to life, including a pain-loving dentist, a dizzy heroine, a nerdy hero and a group of glamorous ladies who know everything that's going on."

The scenery and props have been created by the students themselves, and the show promises to be a lively evening of entertainment.

Performances take place at the school on November 13, 14, and 15 , beginning at 7.30pm. Tickets are available from the school, costing £5 for adults and £3 for children.
