There was non-stop fun in the tropical climes of Royston last week when a church was transformed into a jungle for a fun-filled jamboree holiday club.

There were non-stop activities, games, crafts and singing at Royston Methodist Church in Queens Road from Monday right through to Friday.

Admission was free and included jungle-themed crafts, songs, a quiz and puppets, as well as bible stories and bible games. The children were put into teams of Mischievous Monkeys, Super Snakes and Terrific Tigers, and the church was transformed into an exciting jungle for the week.

The Jungle Jamboree was led by John Hardwick – pictured centre in a pith helmet – assisted by Charlie the Monkey, Gill Grainger and Richard Elcock.

Joan Munden from the church said it was ‘a lot of fun for both children and leaders’.
