A Guilden Morden charity has been commended for the work it does helping people affected by varying degrees of disability.
Wheels for Martin’s Friends was awarded silver in the wellbeing category at the annual South Cambridgeshire Community Awards.
The event at the South Cambridgeshire Hall included many other awards for community services throughout the district.
Charity chairman Peter Furmston – pictured with Kirk Saban of the village’s Edward VII pub which hosts several of its fundraising events, and committee member Mike Allton – said: “We intend to display the certificate in the pub in and would like to thank all the customers and others who have supported the charity throughout the years, without whose help the award would not have been possible.”
The charity, formed in 1989, raises money to buy mobility aids for people in need in Herts, Beds and Cambs.
