SMILES Mother and Toddler group has been saved after a new leader was found.
As reported in The Crow last week, Smiles, which is based at Coombes Community Centre, was set to close at the end of month because both the current organisers, Tracey Sarter and Tricia Salerno, have children who are moving up to a higher age group.
However, following last week's appeal Leigh Storey has come forward and will take over the running of the group in the New Year.
Leigh, who has a young daughter, said: "When I read about it closing I got in touch with Tracey and I went to my first meeting this week.
"Tracey and Tricia are going to be helping me up until Christmas while I get used to how things work.
"It would have been a shame if Smiles had closed, because lots of parents and grandparents rely on it.
"It's nice for my little girl to be able to mix with other children."
Smiles Mother and Toddler group meets at the community centre, in Burns Road, every Monday at 9.30am.
Parents pay £1.50 per meeting.
