A GRAFITTI mural could be installed at Royston’s rail underpass.
North Herts District Council’s community development officer Alan Fleck told members of the council’s Royston area committee that the mural would be designed by local people in conjunction with a professional artist, and fixed to removable panels at the underpass, which links Burns Road and Green Street.
He said he had been speaking to local youth groups, such as the Burns Road Hang Out and the Open House Project, about getting involved and that there was “a lot of enthusiasm” for the scheme among local people.
Cllr Robert Inwood said: “There’s a real buzz out there about this project and I know a lot of people want to have an input.”
Funding for the mural, which would cost £2,300, could come from the area committee, though Mr Fleck is also investigating other funding routes
