THE RETIRING captain of Royston golf club has presented to charity cash raised during his year in office.
Roy Ward, who has stepped down after his year as captain, selected the Garden House hospice in Letchworth as one of his charities for the year.
He presented Sally Alford, matron at the hospice, with a cheque for £2,000. The money was raised at a number of events during the last 12 months.
The Garden House Hospice provides round-the-clock care for patients, and serves the towns of Baldock, Royston, Stevenage and Letchworth, together with the surrounding villages.
