A GARDEN designer from Crow Country has struck gold at a prestigious flower show.
Jill Foxley, who runs her landscape gardening company, The Perfumed Garden, from her home in Chrishall, won a gold medal at the Royal Horticultural Society's Hampton Court Palace Flower Show. She was given the prize for her project entitled The Healing Garden, which was supported by Macmillan Cancer Support, the Crow's charity of the year.
She explained: "The garden was designed to highlight the use of plants that are important in the production of cancer treatments both conventional and herbal, in a relaxing environment using gentle colours, fragrances and textures.
"The garden was staged with the generous help of over thirty national and local generous sponsors who loaned or donated elements for the garden," she said.
Jill and her team were also presented with the coveted People's Choice title for best small garden, voted for by visitors to the RHS website. They picked up the trophy from Bob Sweet, the RHS director of shows.
"We are all absolutely delighted and completely stunned to receive such a fantastic medal and to be voted the publics favourite small garden," said Jill.
"I hope that visitors enjoyed seeing all the gardens at what has been such a successful show," she added.
