THE £10,000 Bassingbourn sculpture should soon be set in stone.
The sculpture, of bronze coprolites, has been given planning permission and the final design has been approved.
Parish council chairman Cllr Jack White said: "We're just in the process of obtaining new quotations, but it seems to be on the move.
"These things always take time."
The sculpture, which was first proposed in 2003, was designed by former Bassingbourn Village College teacher Dave Billings to represent the once thriving coprolite industry in the area.
